It’s been 50 years since Scott Group Custom Carpets was founded in 1969. Beginning this month and rolling out monthly for the remainder of the year, we’re presenting you with a mini curated collection from 50 inspiring patterns – of yesterday and today – from all three Scott Group Studio brands; Scott Group Custom Carpets, Hokanson, and PWV. See the full collection of 50 patterns here.
This first month is inspired by patterns with a watery influence. Scroll down to see our collection of six hand-tufted and hand-knotted Scott Group Studio patterns curated around the theme of water and rain.
The sound of rain is said to be one of nature’s most calming and relaxing sounds. Visually, it can provide a mesmerizing wash of moody, monochromatic hues, puddled patterns and stimulate the senses for abundance of inspiration.
We love the gradations and ombres that our Hokanson brand constructs which might be one reason our eyes were drawn to this purely Hokanson mini collection. Geode, Aella, and Saronno are hand-knotted carpets. We especially love the subtle variations of color and gentle, watery effect that’s created in Saronno.
Naseem is a hand-tufted border design with an organic pattern and a subtle progression from dark to a light field. Which brings us to our hand-tufted pattern, Vetralla which is also constructed with a striking divergence of dark and light, but from one side of the rug to the other. Finally, Yuki is a geometric hand-tufted pattern but the added sophistication of the gradation in the field gives the pattern an almost cloud-like feel.
