AGRA
A (virtual) trip to Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India will evoke the senses. Pulling initial inspiration from the Taj Mahal, this month our visual design team dove into research about this sacred historical architectural marvel and its home city of Agra.
Commissioned as a design for Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631 as a memorial and tomb for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is now one of the seven wonders of the world. The monument, which is often regarded as the edifice of love, took approximately 22 years and more than 20,000 artisans to complete.
As the Taj Mahal was designed in a combination of Indian, Persian, and Islamic styles of architecture we’ve rendered our own unique play on elements of these design influences in the below carpets. We hope your eye will appreciate the lighter than air burnouts and delicate color schemes. If you gaze a little longer you’ll find the intricacies in design detail carries razor sharp intention drawing from Agra’s rich history and culture.
