That's a Wrap!
For several years Scott Group Studio has had the gratification of underwriting Artists Creating Together (ACT) Fiber Art Classes – a fun and creative class where students create art projects utilizing diverse wrapping techniques and mediums. ACT is an organization dedicated to empowering those with disabilities and enabling them to learn and grow through the arts. ACT strives to communicate “Arts for All”, believing that art can empower everyone to reach their full potential.
At Scott Group Studio, we share ACT’s value that the premise of art is the ideal expression of thoughts. This past October, Scott Group Studio employees had the opportunity to attend some of the several Fiber Art Classes. In the classes, we joined ACT students to create a copper and woven yarn bookmark. Scott Group Studio was proud to donate copper bookmarks and our recycled yarn for the program. ACT students were able to take charge and teach us various textile manipulation techniques that they had previously learned in class. As the students were creating we were able to think outside the box, and collaborate on different weaving methods. It was a wonderful evening of art, collaboration, and conversation.
Throughout the series of classes ACT students finished a multitude of bookmarks, resulting in some cool and fashionable designs!
