What Grounds You: Phase Two - Traveler
What Grounds You?
Being grounded means finding strength that allows you to bring your thoughts inward, and focus back to the here and now. Some things that can help ground a person include a walk in the forest, meditation, a favorite song, sharing a cup coffee with a close acquaintance, or getting back to loved ones after a long journey. The first step to a grounded life is a familiar place. This allows your mind to focus ones thoughts in the present. For most of us, our homes provide that space which allows us to become grounded. Our homes are collections of things that are filled with memories, emotions and decorations, making a house our home. A critical component of any interior design starts with flooring or carpeting. It sets the design of the rest of the space and it literally grounds us to the Earth.
Scott Group Studio is excited to announce it’s newest phase of the What Grounds You campaign. This series explores the ideas of how our niche or personal objects ground us in everyday life. In our efforts during the campaign, three themes were formed: Traveler, Mindfulness & Musician. All of which evoke a sense of comfort that our favorite place or item gives us.
Our first issue of the campaign focuses on the Traveler, who after a long trip returns home to regroup. Every adventure has an end point and coming home to the place where you feel most comfortable grounds us.
The current installation of What Grounds You can be seen in the September issue of Interior Design Magazine. Let us know What Grounds You by using the hashtag #sgswhatgroundsyou.
