Our hand-knotted rugs are made using the same traditional methods that have been practiced for centuries. There is a poetry to the process — from hand-carding to spinning, dyeing and knotting — as swift hands deftly complete each step. Material options like New Zealand or Tibetan wool offer versatility in both design and construction.  The results are rife with nuance, abrash colorations and subtle variations that celebrate the special nature of a truly handcrafted piece.

Over the course of time, we’ve elevated tufting from a skill to an art form. In the hands of our tufting artisans, luxury materials—including New Zealand wool, Mulberry silk and wool cashmere—become our medium and handheld machines become the tools by which we explore our artform. There is a subtle complexity to these durable designs that is appreciated by anyone who recognizes quality. Our hand-tufting process, the majority of which occurs at our mill in Grand Rapids, Michigan. is much of what sets us—and our customers’ spaces—apart.

Hand-woven rugs (flatweaves) have become a perennial favorite of our residential designers.
