The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Controller and requires and energetic, service oriented individual responsible for supporting various aspects of finance and accounting. This role requires a strong work ethic, good time management skills, and communication skills in accordance with the core values of Scott Group Studio.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary focus on accounts receivable, including billing and cash receipts
- Perform posting of cash receipts, expenses, or other transactions to the general ledger and verify accuracy
- Assist in year-end activities, including preparation work for review and tax
- Assist in preparation and review of monthly financial statements
- Review and reconcile vendor, customer and credit card statements
- Support Controller by classifying, recording and computing financial data
- Coordinate and execute projects and tasks assigned by the Controller and other members of the company leadership team as needed.
- Handle purchasing of raw materials, including arranging domestic/international freight.
Abilities
- Self-motivated individual who has a great attitude
- Detail oriented
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3 years of experience
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Results-driven personality and ability to plan and achieve department goals
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
